2017 Bookish Highlights

This year, I read new novels that joined my all-time favourites. These are the 2017 releases that really stood out to me this year:

I finished two of my favourite series with Mafiosa and The Scarecrow Queen. Both were amazing books I will treasure and keep coming back to.

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe was a brilliant high-suspense psychological thriller set in space – I can see the movie posters already! I love Lauren James’s books and this, for me, was the best yet. I can’t wait to see what she writes next.

I couldn’t get enough of A Shiver of Snow and Sky. This gorgeous book was so magical and left me craving more of this world.

I dipped into Elly Blake’s fantasy world of ice and fire with Frostblood and Fireblood and absolutely fell in love with the series.

Flame in the Mist was incredible. With characters I couldn’t help but fall in love with, action and danger, revenge and lies, unspoken promises, fierce loyalty, and the value of love and honour, it was a dream to read. I couldn’t stop thinking about it long after the last page.

My shape-shifter circus series concluded this year with The Pack, which released in hardcover and eBook in October. The Wanderers paperback was released on the same day and both books have gorgeous new covers.

The cover for the paperback of Dark Days was revealed and I love the redesign for that too. The book will be published in paperback in July 2018.

I also had the pleasure of working with Badger Publishing this year on their teen series for struggling or reluctant readers. MADE was released in September as part of their Between then Lines series and The Trick with follow in January 2018 in their illustrated Papercuts series.
